Challenge

Lidl UK partnered with Channel 4 as part of its ‘Make Christmas a Lidl Special’ campaign, and wanted to highlight the way we all go that extra mile, to make Christmas really special for our kids and families.

The Outfit’s challenge was to develop authentic and humorous moments that connected to the brand’s audience, while delivering creative that tied in with the brands core Christmas campaign.


Solution

We worked closely with Lidl and Channel 4 to create a series of adverts featuring presenter, Katie Piper and comedian, Alex Brooker – both of whom are parents and extreme Christmas enthusiasts.

Alex and Katie told us numerous ‘Lidl tales’ of their own Christmas upgrades, whether successful or not, including Katie’s experience with an extra-large Christmas tree and Alex’s visible-from-space light displays. The ads also feature some of the retailer’s festive food and drink highlights.

Three of these ‘Lidl Tales’ will be shown in C4 ad breaks from 7th – 31st December, alongside their core Christmas copy. These are supported by influencer talent posts, and Lidl social channels.
